Bae Seong-seo, a native of Yongbyon in North Pyongan Province, graduated from Sunrin Sango and Konkuk University in 1944 and played catcher at Hanil Bank, an unemployed baseball team. The deceased was famous for his intensive training. Former LG Twins coach Kim Jae-bak from Yeungnam University and former Hanwha coach Han Dae-hwa from Dongguk University are the students of Bae Seong-seo. Jang Jong-hoon, a trainee, debuted in the first division in 1987 when former coach Bae Sung-seo was at the helm, and has since grown into a home run hitter.
The mortuary will be set up at the funeral hall of Sinchon Severance Hospital. Tributes can be paid from July 7.
